Advanced marketing, for books and the people who write them.
We built this arm to sell our own list. It works well enough that we now run it for authors, experts and publishers outside the house too.
Book marketing is mostly a fortnight of noise.
The standard campaign is a launch week: a press release, a handful of podcasts, a burst of paid, and then silence. It spikes, it flatters everyone involved, and by month three the title has gone quiet in every place a reader would actually have found it.
Specialist non-fiction does not behave like that. Its readers are looking for the subject, not the author, and they are looking all year round. The job is to be the answer they find, permanently — not to be loud for ten days.
What we actually do
- Search and category positioning. Title, subtitle, categories, keywords and description built against real demand, on retail platforms and in general search. Decided at commissioning, because by publication it is far more expensive to change.
- Digital PR and authority. Earning the coverage, citations and links that make both the book and its author the credible answer in the subject — rather than chasing a single national hit that converts nobody.
- Paid acquisition. Retail advertising and off-platform paid, run to a contribution target per copy rather than to impressions. Switched off when it stops paying.
- Owned audience. Email list, author platform and direct sales — the only channel nobody can take away, and the one that makes the second book far easier than the first.
- Back-catalogue and long tail. Rankings maintained, editions refreshed, new formats and territories opened. Quiet work that compounds for years.
- Measurement you can argue with. One plan, one set of numbers, shared with the author. If a channel is not working we say so, in writing.
Who we do it for
Every title on the Omnipressent list, as standard and at no extra cost to the author. Beyond that we take on a limited number of outside engagements a year: authors published elsewhere, independent publishers without an in-house team, and specialists whose book is really the front door to a practice.
We work best where the subject is narrow and the buyer is serious. If you need a viral moment for a general-interest title, we are honestly not the right people.
Launch week is a moment. Discoverability is an asset.
Everything in this arm is built to still be working in year three. That is a slower promise than most agencies make, and a considerably more honest one.
Tell us the book and the reader.
Those two things are enough for us to say something useful. You will get a straight read on where the demand is and whether we can help.
